Surrounded by jagged, mist shrouded mountains and local potato plantation, Dieng provides travelers more refreshing look of Central Java. It is a vast Mahayana Buddhist monument in the form of a pyramid mandala. Borobudur temple was built around 800 Ad by the Syailendra dynasty and abandoned shortly after completion. It covers an area almost 1.5 ha, with central dome almost 35 meters above the base (Source: UNESCO). Extra visit to Pawon and Mendut temple located near by Borobudur before proceed to Kaliadem village located close to Merapi summit. Here visitors can observe closely one of the most active volcanoes in the world. As it was reported, the recent activity or Merapi during October - November 2010's eruptions has vomited at least five millon meter cubic volcanic material in the form of sand, stone and ash. Pyroclastic flow (hot cloud) is one of the most dangerous effects of Merapi eruptions. During the recent (October - November 2010's eruptions it self), the number of area around he volcano as far as 15 km in distance mostly have been destroyed and forced thousand local people to be evacuated to the safer place.
